Review - The Chocolate box girls #4 - Coco Caramel by Cathy Cassidy

Books and Chocolate - Can you imagine life without them ?

Hello my bookish beauties,

I bring you a review Today as I believe this will be helpful to all Cathy Cassidy fans who haven't read this yet.

I came up with quote myself because I thought it related to the post I'm doing.

I have a lot to say so we better start :

Book name - Coco Caramel

Series - #4 in The Chocolate box girls

Author - Cathy Cassidy

Page count - 263 pages

Time spent reading - 3-4hrs on the 22nd June

Review :

I bought this book the previous Saturday before I read it and couldn't wait to read it as I absolutely  adore this series.

Initially though I have to admit I was hesitant to read because Coco was my least favourite sister and I thought the plot line sounded juvenile.

Fortunately I actually loved this story and devoured it in one sitting.

The plot revolves around animal adorer Coco the youngest of the Chocolate box girls.

When her favourite but unpredictable pony Caramel is re-homed from her riding lessons to an abusive owner , she set's out on a rescue mission.

With only the 'obnixious' Lawrie ,who is a mysterious worker from the stables who she loathes, for help.

Will Coco be able to keep the horse safe and hidden ?

I feared that there would be no romance however there was and the couple have now become my second favourite after Skye and Finch.

The ending has left me feeling like this is the last book in the series but I seriously hope not as I'm looking forward to hearing Honey's story.

My rating :

Rainbow Spines and Covers Tag - Converted from Youtube

Somewhere over the Rainbow,

Hello readers,
The tag of the week is actually an old one ,created about a year ago by ArrictineReads, but I thought I'd do it anyway because it's a beautiful one. I chose books I'd never used previously used for tags.

Before I start though , in other book related news I was awarded the Top reader and reviewer/overall participant for my district in the Carnegie book awards scheme.

Unfortunately my favourite book of the shortlist , Wonder by R.J Palicio, didn't win but I haven't read the winning book so I don't know if it was a worthy triumph.

Anyway back to purpose of this post :

Red is for ....

Point Romance - Winter Warmers by Assorted Authors

This anthology is perfect for the festive season. It has a lovely holly-berry/Santa outfit coloured cover to match this theme.

Orange is for ...

Vampire Beach #3 - Ritual by Alex Duval

Got this free with a magazine in 2011 and I plan on reading it this summer.

The colour of the book instantly makes my associate with the summer season as orange is the colour for heat.

Yellow is for ...

The Chocolate Box Girls #3 - Summer's Dream by Cathy Cassidy

There's not a large selection for this colour however I believe there should be more.

This is actually my favourite cover of the series so far (and what's beneath the jacket as well).

The colour is very summery so it suits the book.

Green is for ...

Nightmare Hall - The Roommate by Diane Hoh

Not my favourite from the series but it has a slime green colour so I used it for this tag.

Blue is for ...

Dreaming of Amelia by Jaclyn Moriarty

I really want to read this authors work soon but the trouble is her books are all longer than what I usually read - 450+ pages - so I'm rather intimidated.

Her books are all different colours and I really do adore the simplicity yet prettiness of this cover.

Indigo is for ...

The Princess and The Pauper by Kate Brian

This is the debut novel of one of my favourite authors and I'd describe at as a combination of the Princess Diaries, Monte Carlo and Confessions of a teenage drama queen.

Illustrated covers are under threat of extinction therefore it's pleasant to view one with such an unusual colour as it's background.

Violet is for ...

Bloomability by Sharon Creech

I've read a book by this author before and intended to read this in Winter but didn't manage to.

Basic cover that proves that words are more powerful than pictures.

Final Result :

Book Haul #4

"Books to the ceiling,
Books to the sky,
My pile of books is a mile high.
How I love them! How I need them!
I'll have a long beard by the time I read them.”

Hello my fellow readers,

Today I bring you my second book haul of the week - an explanation as to the quote from  Arnold Lobel.

This trio of books were purchased during this weekend and they're all girly summer reads therefore they're perfect for this season.

Anyway let's begin :

My Sisters a Pop Star by Kimberly Greene 99p in Sue Ryder Care

Although it has a battered exterior the plot sounded adorable so it was purchased.

I got it when I visited My Nearby District library on Friday (I didn't borrow anything out) in one of the four charity shops that surrounds the library.

Speaking of which I saw 3 Sarah Dessen books however they where over £2.50 with creased spines so hopefully they'll go onto the 50p area soon. That's when I'll buy them.

I tend to really enjoy books about the fame industry and that was my main reason for buying this.

The  earth,my butt & other BIG round things by Carolyn Mackler 99p in Sue Ryder Care

Previously when I attempted to read a book by this author I ended up being unsatisfied but I believe that the reason for that may have been that it was a collaborative book with a writer I didn't like.

This is meant to be a must-read teenage book and Judy Blume (who I've read from before and liked) gave it a positive review.

Never read a book with an over-weight protagonist before so it would be an interesting experience.

I own another book by her as well (Love and other four letter words) therefore I hope she's good.

The chocolate box girls #4 - Coco Caramel by Cathy Cassidy £5 in ASDA

One of my friends and I have been fan girling in anticipation of this release.

Getting this so cheap (and in hardcover) as a collector of the series was a dream come true. Until I got hope and realized they'd resized the series so this one is now wider and taller than the others. ARGH!

Coco is actually my least favourite sister (me and Skye are twins) and I'm not really finding this plot appealing.

My friend wishes to know my thoughts before she buys and reads though so I'll be reading it this week.

Thank you for reading this post !
