Yes, Today I present to you the long-awaited review of a 2013 release straight of the Runway (book reference).
But first I thought I'd inform you that I've just won my fourth Goodreads Giveaway - Acid by Emma Pass ! YAY!!!!!!!
Just to clarify I finished this BEFORE the read-a-thon started so it isn't part of that total.
Read-a-thon update :
Finished Boys For Beginners by Lil Chase this evening so I'm on track for my reading. My review of that will be up tomorrow. Currently starting Fear Street- The Prom Queen by R.L Stine.
Without further ado, Let's begin the review :
Book name : Geek Girl (#1)
Author : Holly Smale
Page count : 379 pages
Time Spent Reading : 10th - 12th
Review :
I borrowed this from the Library on Saturday 4th and I'm glad that I did because I found it extremely enjoyable.
It's a heart-warming poignant (if your personality's like mine) novel revolving around the intellectual, random fact loving Harriet Manners. It details the triumphs and trials she encounters whilst enduring an unwanted modelling career.
Harriet ,our protagonist, is : humorous, naive and someone who ,if she actually existed, I'd probably be friends with. You should read this book just to experience her witty insight on life and the copious Pop Culture references the author applies on every page.
Personally, the moments I found to be superlatively enjoyable where the adorable romance scenes (the Love interest meeting was so sweet) as well as the Mean school scenes that almost brought tears of sympathy to my watering eyes.
Formatted in a page-turning style the story ends far too quickly and the facts it's packed with linger on your mind.
I'll definitely be reading the sequel when that's released!
Taking all of my points into consideration,I'm rating this book :
4 out of 5 stars
